The pros are the easy use and independence of your operating system.You now have just to open the site https://vpn-unidsl.rwth-aachen.de, and the necessary client will be automatically installed.

Requirements to use Cisco AnyConnect
It should work in Windows Versionen 7, Vista SP2, XP SP3, 2000 SP4.
All browser are supported with activeX or Java (JRE 1.4 and higer). This should be for all modern browsers.

Attention: Cisco AnyConnect doesn't work after an upgrade from Windows XP to Windows Vista You have to do a "clean" install. If you want to do an upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7, you first have to deinstall an existing instalaltion of Cisco AnyConnect, or you have to do a "clean" install, too. |
All linux-systems are supported with kernel 2.4 and 2.6 with 32-bit variants. 64-bit systems have to support biarch.
Following Systems are testes:
Mac OS X 10.4 and 10.5 are supported.
Cisco AnyConnect should work under Windows Mobile Classic, 5.0 Professional, 6.0 and 6.1.
are not supported.
All Systems can use WebVPN. Instead of using the Cisco AnyConnect Client you can open a special internet site. Within this site you have a vpn-connection. but other programs cannos use this vpn-connection
This is useful, if you want open internal-RWTH sites outside the RWTH network.
