Configuration of the RWTH WLAN 802.1x access


with the iPhone or iPod touch (here with the iPod touch)

 

Step1: System Requirements:

To use eduroam on the iPhone or the iPod touch the firmware 2.0 or higer must be installed on the device.

Important: Please assure that you have set a new password for your WLAN/VPN account in your selfservice tool after February, 1st 2008. If you did not set a new password or if your are not sure, please set a new password!


Step 2:

At first install the following  3 Certificates:

  • Telekom Toplevel Certificate
  • DFN Global Intermediate  Certificate
  • RWTH  Certificate

Example: Dialogue of the installation of the DFN certificate (Installation of the other certificates looks similar):

  

Step 3:

Switch to the settings and there choose the menu item WiFi.

 

Step 4:

If you choose "eduroam", you have to enter your user ID and the RWTH domain (e.g.: ab123456@rwth-aachen.de ) and the belonging WLan/VPN password (changeable via selfservice tool).

The SSIDs eduroam-peap-mschapv2 and eduroam-ttls-pap were replaced by eduroam.

 

Step 5:

During the first connection establishment you have to accept the certificate of the Radius server. After that the connection is established. Have fun with eduroam!
