Necessary rules
- The time for how long the data is stored is generally not limited. The archive account is bound to the status as an employee or guest of the RWTH Aachen University or user of the RV-NRW though. If this status is lost the account becomes invalid. The holder of an account should therefore care about the future destination of his data in advance. An invalid account and data which is stored under this account can be removed from the Center of Computing and Communication.
- The archive is accessible for all users after being authorized by their department (institute, professorchip, etc...). The head of this repsective department can get access to the archived data - especially after the holder of the account left. By this measure it is made sure that valuable data whcih ash been archived by a user is available for the institute.
- The intention of the archive is the storage of data with direct belonging to reasearch and teaching. It is explicitely NOT indented to store a computer's system files This data is more reasonably stored in the backup.
- The Center for Computing and Communication does not take any responsibility for the legitimate period of record-keeping.
- Unused archives (archive nodes containing no data) will be deleted by the RZ. In case of new "empty" archives nodes the deletion will be done four weeks after registration. In case of alread used "empty" archive nodes the deletion will be done four weeks after the last access. Archive nodes can be recreated at every time if needed.
