Project Description

What is ViSTA?

  • ViSTA is a software platform that allows integration of VR technology and interactive, 3-D visualization into technical and scientific applications. The outstanding features of ViSTA are advanced interaction and visualization methods for post-processing in numerical simulation. Nearly all VR projects at the CCC are based on ViSTA.

  • ViSTA utilizes the widely used Open Source Scenegraph library OpenSG for rendering

  • ViSTA is implemented as an object-oriented (C++) cross-platform software library, available for

    • Windows
    • Linux

How can I get ViSTA?

The ViSTA core libraries are open source and licesnsed under the LGPL.
You can find them on sourceforge.net as 'vistavrtoolkit'.

The FlowLib Part of ViSTA is in the process of becoming open source, too - stay tuned :-)
